About ONYX
Strong foundations. Lasting work.
A Sandpoint, Idaho general contractor building custom homes, commercial projects, and federal facilities across North Idaho.

Our Story
Named for a stone that's built to endure.
Onyx is dense, durable, and quietly beautiful. It's the standard we hold every project to.
ONYX Construction was founded in Sandpoint by people who love North Idaho and believe the buildings here should be worthy of the setting. We bring the same discipline to a custom lake home that we bring to a federal facility: careful planning, clear communication, and craftsmanship that holds up season after season.
Our team is local. We live here, our kids go to school here, and we see our projects around the area every day. That keeps us honest — and proud of what we build.

What We Stand For
The values behind every build.
Integrity
Straight answers, transparent budgets, and no surprises. If something changes, you hear it from us first.
Craftsmanship
We care about the details that will still look right in thirty years — not just on move-in day.
Communication
One point of contact, regular updates, and a team that picks up the phone.
Accountability
Schedules, specs, and standards are commitments. We hold ourselves to them on every job, of every size.
Respect for the Land
We build in some of the most beautiful country anywhere, and we treat the site accordingly.
Long-Term Relationships
Much of our work comes from referrals. We intend to keep it that way.
Three Disciplines, One Standard
Residential craft. Federal discipline.
Few builders work across custom residential, commercial, and Department of Defense construction. Each makes us better at the others. Federal work sharpens our documentation, safety, and scheduling. Residential work keeps our eye on the finish and the client experience. Commercial work keeps us efficient and practical.

Licensed & Insured
Registered, insured, and ready to build.
